Phoenix Community

Phoenix has been the Capital of Arizona since 1912. It is nicknamed the Valley of the Sun for our average of 296 days of sunshine each year. Phoenix ranks as one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and is the 5th largest city in the United States.

The city of Phoenix is diverse and spreads over 500 square miles.  You will find a wide variety of communities from historical homes from the 1800’s to brand new homes.  Although the city is large, you will find it easy to find your way around due to the grid system set in place.

Phoenix offers plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, golfing, tennis, hot air balloon rides, horseback riding and more.  Phoenix also offers many of the things you’d expect from a large city, such as The Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Gardens, the Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum, Arizona Science Center, the Phoenix Symphony, etc.  Phoenix is also home to the MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks and the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

There are at least 15 different public school districts that support the City of Phoenix.  There are also charter schools and private schools to choose from. Phoenix is also home to some reputable colleges such as Grand Canyon University, Phoenix College, ASU Downtown, etc.
